Graphic designers no longer need to worry about photoshop crashing or the number of design changes from the client. Why? AI is taking up your job. xD just kidding! But will ai replace graphic designers?
If you had asked me 5 years ago, I would have told you no. But now, Yes, it can but will not completely replace them but can also be a deadly partnership with designers. Let’s talk simple business to get to the core.
Majority of the graphic designers are hired by brands and companies to craft amazing designs. The brands pay graphic designers based on the portfolio, detail of the work, time, and experience. Graphic designers on average charge a minimum of $15 to $30/hour in the US or $3 to $10/hour in India, Philippines, Pakistan…
On the other end, we have AI designing tools. Which charges based on the graphic memory it takes up or number of text prompt we give the AI tool. (It’s getting cheaper than a designer)
But before that what are AI tools doing here and how the 🦆 is it going to replace graphic designers?
We already know machine learning can detect things from images. 🤖
But now they also know to put them on natural language description.
So a bunch of researchers decided to switch this out, i.e - Give caption and AI should recreate an image. After years of bla bla 🔧💉 and hard work, we are here! We give AI captions and it creates the visuals for us.

Will ai replace graphic designers?
AI has rendered an amazing image with thrilling details and lighting. Super impressive stuff and on paper has done an excellent job. But again explaining something to a computer and getting the changes to be done is a pain in the 🍑
Will AI replace graphic designers? But what if graphic designers can use AI as a tool to create amazing visuals!? Looks like AI is not going to replace graphic designers completely today or tomorrow. But down a couple of years, there might be an AI option available on Canva which can make anyone do phenomenal stuff. But the artist’s eye and the creative approach with craftsmanship is what’s going to make the designers unique and stand out. If you are an okayish designer then sorry to say, but AI is coming for you!

AI tools are no substitute for an experienced graphic designer. The AI is getting more and more popular as it continues to evolve, while the AI may be cheaper per design or can even produce higher quality designs, this doesn't mean it's worth giving up on your human touch. At least for the next couple of years.
